~~ My Memorial Day Memorial ~~

Danny and I were stationed in Colorado Springs with "Brian McElroy" for about 4 years.

He was a quite, soft spoken, but hilarious person.

On this Memorial Day I would like to honor his family and the many other families that are serving/have served our country...

Brian and Jason were buried together in Arlington National Cemetery. This is a picture of their ceremony.

Danny...you make me proud...you were an awesome soldier

....but don't you forget that I always "out ranked you!" ....(and I always will!) ;)

A Colorado Congressman, and General Myers (Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff)
ya, that is the military's highest ranking uniformed officer, and me....in my glory days! :)

~~ Teacher Appreciation Gift ~~

Liberty's teacher has been wonderful this year.
I wanted to make something for her and this is something I came across not to long ago that looked quick and easy peasy.
~~~~DISCLAIMER~~~~
I am NOT a jewelry maker, to many small items, a whole lot of needle noise pliers, and I get overwhelmed with the beads! :)
.......but this was pretty cut and dry
a large washer, a few beads, some clasps,
scrapbook paper cut to size
&
diamond glaze to give it that gloss look.
I left the teacher a note in the bag that read, "Liberty has come full circle, thank you!"
Aren't these buttons great!
I got them a few weeks back and have been meaning to post them!
They are vintage buttons I got from Lori Anderson Designs.
She is so sweet to have sent them to me....Thanks Lori....I adore them and can't wait to use them up! :)
Tonight was the dance recital and Libby was so excited.
She had a "rehearsal" this afternoon and then the big performance this evening.
She was so pleased with herself and exuded a confidence that I have never seen in her before! :)
Ok..so the background is terrible, (here comes the but...), but I was trying to wrangle everyone, not get dirty or wet, not rub make up all over their faces.....you get the idea!
She looks beautiful....maybe someone can tell me how to crop out the background for a different one?
Again...terrible background.......
Oh Faith.................I tried to make sure she was happy. Since she was not old enough to participate in ballet this year I still got her all "dolled" up too!
She got a pretty dress, make-up and glitter...but she didn't care. She wanted to be on stage.
Here is the picture when the night started going terribly bad....before it even started! :)
Stern...but cute!
Love ya Faith...
Kids Travel Tote!
First off let me start by saying that I told a little fib!
I said I was done crafting until I reached my final destination in Virginia....however,
I could not contain myself and had to whip up these cute little travel totes for our trek!
They were sooooooo easy!
1. Plastic bins (I prefer the flip lids so they shut and are secure!)
2. Big picture stickers (got mine at the Dollar Store. They are the ones that are suppose to be for the wall)
3. Lots of "busy" things from the Dollar Store
like.....stickers, small games, markers, crayons, notepads, cards...you get the idea!
Then you just decorate with the stickers, add your child's name if you please, and filler up with the goods......and you have a kiddo travel tote!
I put the girls names on mine...so we can tell the difference. They are really big right now into "yours and mine!" Drives me N-U-T-S!
Some of the "wall" stickers I used to decorate the exterior with!
Very girly....that is what they love! 8<)
Some of the "goods" I stashed in there for our trip.....
More cute decorative stickers.
The hubby seems to think they will only last a few minutes, but it is a chance I am willing to take. They each have their own so there should be no fighting.....(right!)
Oh...and they are staying in hiding until we leave!
Grand total on this project.....$12.00 (I love the Dollar Store)
Ok....so the BLOG has been seriously suffering the last week!
With Danny leaving and the impending move I am swamped. I feel like I am sinking a bit so I have to stop thinking about everything and take things 1 day at a time. (overwhelming)
We did have Faith's 3rd birthday this weekend and it was such a blast, however I screwed up thinking the cake was included...and it wasn't. (another sign of the sinking thing i was talking about!)
It still went ok though and she got to dress up, put on make-up and get her hair done!
~~ Getting her nails painted ~~
Liberty all "glamed" up!
Faith...so adorable!
Danny (being very sweet) decided to get me a laptop for Mother's Day/my birthday present.
My "regular" computer is going to be packed for 3 months in a storage center with all my other household goods so I was in need of something to stay "connected"~
I think I would go nuts without a computer for that long...it that terrible?
So here she is...a pink mini laptop. Arriving any day now! So exciting!
We also updated our phone plans and look at this pretty little thing I got as well!
Man...I am "so" connected now!
Anyway.....this is what my "FOR SALE" sign looks like now! :)
YYY---EEE---AAA--HHHH!!!
....and this is were all my household items are going! 2 big PODS are getting dropped off, packed up, and shipped out!
They will be staying in an storage facility in Virginia for almost 3 months!!!!!
We are renting a furnished place so we should be ok with just our clothes and toys...it will be an adventure for sure!
The worst part is........
-no sewing
- no crafting
-no self expression
-no making of pretty much anything!
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?????
All my supplies, materials, fabric, scissors, glue, glitter, paper, and anything else you can think of is in those PODS!
I guess I will have to read what you are all making and just WAIT!
~~ That is going to be so hard! ~~
