~~ Fly.......~~

I should be studying....but instead I made this!
I got this shadowbox frame at Target for $7, removed the wedding cover, and added my own green paper.
Punched out LOTS of butterflies and then added the word FLY......
I took a picture of this finished in the shadowbox...but it must have been deleted. I will retake another.
This is so cute and matches the fabric covered lanterns that I am in the process of finishing.
Hope you like!

~~ Those darn stairs!!! ~~

I mean really....I dislike then so because I have to carry everything up them, but when your kids start falling down them....enough is enough! :)
I guess we all have to get a bit more use to the stairs!
We have about 10 concrete stairs that led to our front door and Libby was outside after school yesterday playing w/ friends and ran in quick to grab....a band-aid...of all things and on the way back out....this happened....

Yep...she rolled down all the steps. She was terrified, all clammy, and pretty shaken.

She has some pretty good scraps all over. Most look like this one...but they are literally from head to toe! Poor kid....she did have a good story at the bus stop this morning though! :-)

Look what arrived...I couldn't help myself....I started working straight away!!!!

I am soooo excited...I wish I could get all the little rosette's done faster...I love to hot glue then on...so stupid...I know!
Stay tuned for the finished product! ; -)

~~ Tag...your it! ~~

Tag....I'm it!!!

Very cool huh...I was tagged for some "honest scrap" by Tracie at My Crafty Side. Thanks Tracie!

In accepting this award, I need to do the following:
1) Say thanks and give a link to the presenter of the award.
2) Share "ten honest things" about myself.
3) Present this award to 7 others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me.
4) Tell those 7 people that they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving.

So....I will start with some my honest things!

1. I have not crafted a single thing since moving to our new home! (However that will end soon...I am making something very cool when my fabric arrives!)

2. I am a morning person...I don't think I could sleep in even if I tried.

3. I LOVE Project Runway...it would be a dream to be on that show.

4. I am addicted to shoes. I don't have all that many, but given the opportunity to buy lots...I would!

5. I hate doing laundry...or I should say I hate folding it.

6. Being independent.... I think it should have been my middle name. Sometime it is my downfall too!

7. My kids make me "happy" cry all the time!

8. I love the idea of flowers, but think they are a total waste of money.

9. I'm addicted to thrift/antique stores. People's old crappy is so interesting to me!

and last......

10. Life is crazy, but anything else would be WAY to boring!

I am gonna tag a few people because I love there blogs and think they are a a super talented group of ladies.

(Note: If you don't participate I won't feel bad...I know some folks don't like these things!)

Mmmm...baked potato soup!

It has been rainy, cool, and just flat out "yuck" here the last few days so I was dying to make some baked potato soup.....yummmmmmy!

This whole meal cost me about $8.50 and I have more for today. (After loading these pictures I may just have to go get some!)

This is the best part.... :)

You could add sour cream, but we aren't big sour cream eaters. I also cut down the milk to skim and used less butter than the recipe called for to make it lighter. I used light cheese and light bacon (if bacon can be light?) as well.

Awww...isn't that pretty?
Hope everyone is having brighter days than we are here!

~~ Simmer down...simmer down ~~

Ok...so life has been crazy, but we made it through the worst..I hope!
The girls have been wonderful and are finally getting used to the idea of Virginia being our new home. As Danny says, Texas will always have our hearts, but home is where you lay your head at night...
School starts for Liberty on Tuesday, she has met the new teacher, got her supplies, and her bus schedule and she is ready to go. Not looking back in my direction at ALL! Sad to me...but she is ready to meet new friends and see new things and I don't blame her for that!

So one last hoorah before school starts was taken at the Museum of Natural History in D.C. . Liberty and Faith just had to see the Night at the Museum exhibits.

Of course the T-Rex being the favorite!

Faith...you make me happy!

Libby...my big helper...she loves to feed Cadence, clean the dishes, and wash the table! Hey fine by me!

Cadence is getting HUGE!!!!

So there you have it...pretty much just a bunch of randomness...
